About Candy Dahl
Candy Dahl adores books. Her love for story began early on in the lap of her grandmother Ethel Jane, an accomplished raconteur. In elementary school, Candy wrote in a diary under the name Sharon and invented a world much more exciting, adventurous - and problematic - than her own.
Candy, a former teacher/librarian, received her MFA degree in Writing for Children and Young Adults from the Vermont College of Fine Arts.
Candy loves discovering little known historical events and using them to launch her middle grade and young adult novels. Her novel EMMA AND THE CIVIL WARRIOR was one of three finalists for the Children's Book of the Year of the Southeastern Booksellers Association and for the Juvenile Fiction Book of the Independent Publishers Association. Recently, Candy has discovered a passion for a new genre and is enjoying writing early readers.
Candy lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, with her husband David and their Aussie-doodle Rocky - who is a mess and a joy to be around!
