About Whitney Stewart

Whitney Stewart’s most recent picture books——Meditation is an Open Sky and A Catfish Tale——have children laughing and meditating. Whitney published her first award-winning biography after interviewing the Dalai Lama. She trekked with Sir Edmund Hillary in Nepal; interviewed Aung San Suu Kyi in Burma; and traveled to China to write about Deng Xiaoping and Mao Zedong. She is the author of three middle-grade novels and multiple nonfiction books for children and adults. Her children's biography, Who Was Walt Disney, has sold over six hundred thousand copies. Currently she is writing on Mindfulness for children.
