December 17, 2017 by Erzsi Deak

Thanks to all who participated in the 2017 Iconic Holiday Hen Contest. This year’s Hen was created by Andrea Zuill. Thank you, Andrea!!!! We love this boy’s message and his two muses!
Andrea was born in the agricultural town of Bakersfield, CA and moved to the San Diego area when she married. For 20 years she owned and ran a sign and graphics company. At the same time Andrea created oil paintings. She’s still painting and her work shows in galleries in California, Texas and New York. In 2006 she started creating prints of funny and cranky characters which led to her start in children’s books. At her first SCBWI LA conference she was chosen as one of the 2011 Mentees. In 2013 she won best portfolio at the 2013 Golden Gate Conference in Monterey, CA. Schwartz & Wade published her debut picture book, WOLF CAMP and will publish SWEETY. Sterling has just published MARIGOLD & DAISY and DANCE IS FOR EVERYONE. Congratulations, Andrea!
